Shashidhar G A is a Senior Data Engineer at Cargill with over 13 years of experience in both product and service industries. He specializes in building applications and data platforms using cloud native and BigData solutions with a focus on improving customer experience. At Cargill, Shashidhar is playing the role of a Data Architect for a Trading and Risk Management Project. His main vision is to build a data lake that provides certified datasets of market positions for all of Cargill's commodities, enabling advanced analytics on risk management and compliance. He also worked on integrations with frontend app engineered in Angular and hosted on a CDN. Shashidhar oversaw the deployment process that employed Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines and Ansible for managing the Kubernetes cluster. He mentored a team of junior developers in upskilling and equipping them to deliver features at speed. Shashidhar has also worked as a Big Data Technical Lead at Wipro. He worked as a Big Data developer for one of Wipro's clients, optimizing the selection and scheduling of a portfolio of IT projects such that the trade-offs among various objectives are optimized, while satisfying resource constraints and other business constraints. Shashidhar created a data pipeline to ingest data into an on-premise Hadoop cluster from Project Portfolio Management(PPM) and Business Value Proposition (BVP) tool datasources using Sqoop and Hive. He wrote Pig scripts to transform data and created a pipeline using Fluentd to push transformed data into MySQL server on Microsoft Azure cloud, which was later consumed by Power BI for further visualizations.
